HMS Berwick, 1:700 Combrig
The model shows Berwick in the late 1920's / early 1930's fit and in China Station colours of white and buff. I used the Combrig Canberra kit as a base which is good but lacks a little detail for these complex ships, particularly in the area of details around the superstructure and decks so most of the vents, hatches and piping were either added with etched parts or scratchbuilt. Slight alterations and additions were needed to represent Berwick, particularly the catapult and superstructure aft of it, though some work was also needed around the bridge. A scratchbuilt Gloster Gamecock fighter completes this section and brass barrels by Voyager, replacement brass masts and figures from Eduard in tropical dress complete the picture.
